This is a very good point. It can be rationalized that the extinction of the dinosaurs is caused by a series of tectonic plate collisions over the years. Through thisit has created a large amount of volcanic activity emmission of CO2 and SO2. This created a toxic living environment for the dinosaurs and an ecological disaster for the vegetation and water supply combined. As such, the movement of tectonic plates in a variety of locations all contributed to the loss of this species. Therefore, this would be the main cause of the world's loss of dinosaurs.avatcher (talk) 08:33, 2 April 2012(UTC)

It seems as though the main point of this article is in itself contradictory. There is no denying that the trauma of the shifting and colliding of the tectonic plates could have been the cause of the dinosaurs' extinction. However, it is this intense overturning and disruption of the Earth's surface that diminishes the credibility of this theory concering the date of the extinction, as many layers of the Earth could have been mixed together because of the colliding plates.Jstal531 (talk) 01:39, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
