To-do list[edit source]

  • Add descriptions of Lumen Christi conferences with links to available videos
  • Add section with discussion of specific topics like immigration, finance, etc. similar to this list of Faith and Economics articles but with a Catholic focus and links to other sources as well
  • Descriptions of different general approaches to the relationship between Catholicism and economics, which will inevitably be caricatures: e.g. libertarian advocacy, social justice advocacy, and Thomist approaches
  • Don't jump to CSD but rather frame everything in terms of basic Catholic ideas that people would know from confirmation classes and participating in mass.
  • Add a discussion of the role of evolution in shaping self-interest and how that all relates to the Catholic understanding of human nature, such as discussed in the document Communion and Stewardship: Human Persons Created in the Image of God.

If you are interested, maybe I could help translating the content of this wikipage to Spanish (and contributing with content in Spanish and English simultaneously), I'd just need a little help to make that feature available. So, what do you think?

@Diegoramosflor: Ok, I think I understand what kind of help you need now. The place to put the translated page is here: https://es.wikiversity.org/w/index.php?title=Gu%C3%ADa_de_Economista_Cat%C3%B3lica&action=edit (or whatever title you think would be best, as my Spanish is only at the intermediate level). The first step is probably to copy all the current English wikitext there, so you can translate it bit by bit. Thank you very much. Here is the link to my proposal of an Spanish version of this page https://es.wikiversity.org/wiki/Gu%C3%ADa_para_el_Economista_Cat%C3%B3lico , I think that's the title tha fits best; of course, it's still under construction, but I hope I will get most of it translated by this month, maybe searching for the appropiate links and references in Spanish, when available, will take me a little bit longer, but maybe we can gt it done by the end of this year. Economic initiative inspired by Catholic thought[edit source]

@Diegoramosflor: Can you explain how the Employee Stock Ownership Plan and Social Credit initiatives were inspired by Catholic thought? I think they are interesting models, but if Catholic thought did not play a role in their development, they should at least be moved to a different section, I would think. p.s. I see your point, and I absolutely agree; I'll try to correct it this month. So far I have spread the word only on a facebook group for Catholic economists (https://www.facebook.com/groups/40933392832/), with nothing near to success; i'm thinking on better ideas to make some real specialists contributors of this wiki.--Diegoramosflor (discuss • contribs) 06:38, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
