Talk:Biblical Studies (NT)/III. The Twelve Apostles
Add topicRemoved from Judas section because of doctrinal bias. The stated purpose of this course is to provide an objective presentation of the text and this content is clearly subjective:
"Again, Judas' actions, even his remorse, are not worthy of sympathy because his pride and lust for power got him to that point. Again, Judas was literally possessed by Satan. Judas' actions and attitude did not surprise Jesus! Jesus knew everything about everything at all times. And Jesus remained patient and loving towards Judas even after Judas kissed him in the Garden of Gethsemane. But notice what happened just before Judas kissed him! When Judas arrived with the Jewish soldiers of the Temple, Jesus addressed them first. Jesus said, "Who are you looking for?" It was probably two or three in the morning. One of the Temple Soldiers said, "Jesus of Nazareth." He didn't recognize Jesus. Then Jesus said, "I am he." (John 18:6) And all of the soldiers fell to the ground! In other words, Jesus sent power from himself that knocked all of the soldiers to the ground! Judas saw this! He could have bowed his knee to Jesus right there and then and repented! But Satan possessed Judas! Judas betrayed Jesus because his heart was evil, against God's Will of Purpose, and, like Satan, was destined to be used by God to manifest that nothing can stop God's purposes from being achieved.
From this we know that Jesus is great and we can do anything through Him who strengthens us."

Question #12
[edit source]I thought the sons of Alphaeus were James ( the Less) and Judas (not Iscariot), yet that choice isn't offered in question #12. Thank you. 2600:1002:B028:5D11:91FC:457C:18EE:FCC3 (discuss) 04:35, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
