  • Estuary - Partially enclosed coastal area at the mouth of a river where its freshwater, carrying fertile silt and runoff from the land, mixes with salty seawater.

Productivity Note[edit source]

  • temperature and light and rainfall - support high productivity in biomes like temperate forest
  • interaction with land and water lead to good productivity
  • taiga isn't as productive as temperate forest because of the cold temperatures and sunlight
  • main combo of light and water
  • organic water pollution = oil spills
