PANINI-GRAMMARIAN

Introduction:

Sanskrit language is known as Deva bhasha. ThePrinciples texts of Hinduism ,Buddhism, Jainism etc. written in Sanskrit.Literature of wide variety are written . Vedas, Upanishads, Itihasa, Kavyas, Natakas, scientific expositions, grammar, mathematics, philosophy etc. are written in Sanskrit language.There is no original script available. Written in Devanagari script.It is the most scientific language in terms of frame work and has majical powers.It is also Known as mother of all languages

WHO IS PANINI?

He is born in 600 BCE.He is known as Daakshi putra .He belonga to North Westren India gandhara desha presently in Pakistan.He is the Father of linguistics.He is the most famous Philologist, grammarian in the world.He wrote ASHTADHYAYI a treatise on Sanskrit grammar.

WHAT IS ASHTADYAYI ?

In Sanskrit, Ashta means eight and Adhyaya means chapters.It means a collection of eight chapters Again each chapter is divided into 4 padas.These are written in the form of sutras (aphorisms).The entire Sanskrit grammar in 4000 sutras

WHY IS ASHTADYAYI IMPORTANT?

Patanjali in Mahabhasya ‘s “Vyaakarana prayojahnikam says” Ashtadhyayi is important

1.For protection of vedas thus part of shadangas

2.For imagining the meaning of shastras

3.Easy process to learn Sanskrit

4.Un ambiguity of language

5.Super computer formation

6.For Minimum input and maximum there is maximum output

7.It helps to build the Syntax: generalisation to build a computer program

8.There are many publications, research articles in various journals

TECHNIQUE OF ASHTADHAYI:

1.Maaheswara sutras emanated from dhamaruka of Lord Shiva

2.All alphabets in 14 sutra

3.It is the Basis for all other sutras

4.Groups of letters pratyayas{formulas} are formed

Eg: Ach ,ak, at, ik etc.
