Each individual is different from the other in different ways. This includes differences in physical, demographic, affective, and cognitive behavior. Physical and demographic behavior differences can be identified easily by a teacher. However, affective and cognitive behaviors requires close interaction with the learners. Understanding the individual differences among students helps a teacher understand the performance of the class she engages and prepare suitable content. Through education, a teacher can help in the development of the cognitive behavior of their learners.
