Quality standards of open statistical meta-datasets

[edit | edit source]

Tranparency of the source

[edit | edit source]

Every number has to be linked to its source. This can be accomplished by a abbreviation key like in literature references.

Cross Check

[edit | edit source]

Every item of the metadataset has to be compared with its sources by different participants.

Creative Commons Compliance

[edit | edit source]

We have to be sure that the data packaged into the meta-dataset is free of copyrights. The typical case of such data are numbers published by national state deprtements.

Evaluation / Commenting

[edit | edit source]

Ideally we have to aquire additional knowledge about the production of the data used. Survey methods as well as a comment on the reliableness of the data. There can be a database containing relevant institutions and there used methods of getting data.
