Shouldn't this be Portal:Engineering? Ah I see... why is there a Portal:Engineering and a School:Engineering? Shouln't we find a way to name this less confusingly? 71.77.207.50 06:48, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Overlap[edit source]

It seems that a lot of departments that are a specialization of another department exist. For example, the Electronic and Electrical department overlaps in terms of material covered with the "school of electronics" (?), computer science, physics. This results in a situation where topics are covered four or five times, and other topics are ignored because it is assumed they fall under the remit of another school. I have seen about 4 renditions of basic electronics, which is fine except that a large number of other topics on which time would be better spent are not covered. It might be a good idea to link to other schools content where appropriate, and also reduce the number of schools or at least agree what is covered between them. opinions? 88.212.136.185 14:38, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have restructured the Engineering Departments under established Major Branch Divisions and have implemented categorization using the new "Tree" system. Hopefully, others will follow suit and engineering will come back into the fold and take on the same adherence to the organizational standards that other schools have done recently. -Gustable 06:51, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Along these lines, I would like to move Aerospace into the Interdisciplinary category. While mechanics are important to the aerospace field, equally-critical topics include materials, software, electronics, and systems/controls. Discussion is welcome, of course. Typical tempelates.[edit source]

I would like to use most of the templates in this Wikiversity and translate them to be typical in Arabic (to be used by Arabic Wikiversity which is still under preparations) and hope this won't bother the original creators.--Email4mobile 13:26, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
