SQLite is a database that does not use a network. It is suitable for small applications because of its ease of use and do not support advanced features which can add complexity. SQLite's use is open source.[1]

SQLite use a simple storage approach by storing the entire database (definitions, tables, indices, and the data itself) as a single cross-platform file on a host machine.
