Barack Obama was the 44th President of the United States, and the first African-American President. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1961. He served as an Illinois state senator from 1997 to 2004, and a US senator from Illinois from 2005 to 2008. He was elected president in 2008 and served two terms.
