Msinfo32, also known as System Information, is a Windows system profiler. These activities will show you how to use msinfo32 to display a system summary.

  1. Start Windows.
  2. Log in if necessary.

Activity 1 - Display System Summary

  1. Open msinfo32 to display system information.
  2. Observe the System Summary settings:
    • OS Name
    • Version
    • Other OS Description
    • OS Manufacturer
    • System Name
    • System Manufacturer
    • System Model
    • System Type
    • Processor
    • BIOS Version/Date
    • SMBIOS Version
    • Windows Directory
    • System Directory
    • Boot Device
    • Locale
    • Hardware Abstraction Layer
    • User Name
    • Time Zone
    • Installed Physical Memory (RAM)
    • Total Physical Memory
    • Available Physical Memory
    • Total Virtual Memory
    • Available Virtual Memory
    • Page File Space
    • Page File
  3. Close msinfo32 to complete this activity.
