The example of Tomcat
[edit | edit source]Tomcat is an example of application server that implements the Java Servlet and the JavaServer Pages (JSP) specifications from Sun Microsystems. Tomcat deploys the WAR files that archive the web applications.
Environment variables have to be configured, for instance, as:
- JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_10
- TOMCAT_HOME=C:\apache-tomcat-5.5.12
