Japanese I/Do It Yourself

From Wikiversity

This sub-course will focus on getting you, the student, to make your own sentences and will focus on syntax and creating "sentence templates." These are simple sentences which can be broken up and replaced with new vocabulary to make new sentences. While it is advised to use this method as a learning aid, it could also be used to replace grammar.

By reading these chapters, students should be able to create simple sentences and have simple conversation after learning the appropriate vocabulary.

The lessons in this sub-course assume no prior Japanese knowledge but will, on occasion, direct students to vocabulary lessons as required. It is designed for those literate in kana, but provides readings in brackets. Taken that it assumes no prior Japanese knowledge, it is designed to be sequential and should be read in order. However, the student who can make sentences in Japanese already may browse as he or she sees fit.
