Educational Forest Templates
[edit | edit source]The templates entabled below are for use in Educational Name Tree Forest list items.
Miscellaneous Templates
[edit | edit source]There are several rather minor templates that can be used in coding items. These are copies of templates used for the primary name forest.
Font control | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bg | {{{1}}} | Sm | {{{1}}} | Ty | {{{1}}} |
BG | {{{1}}} | SM | {{{1}}} | TY | {{{1}}} |
bG | {{{1}}} | sM | {{{1}}} | tY | {{{1}}} |
Clr | {{{2}}} | Rd | {{{1}}} | xRd | ex |
These are used to change the presentation of their {{{1}}} component (except for Clr). For example, {{../Rd|Left Wing}} yields Left Wing, and is needed to colour in items for entities that no longer, or never did, exist. This template really a special case of {{../Clr|ff0000|Left Leg}} which yields Left Leg.
Living Creatures
[edit | edit source]The templates described here are used to encode various aspects of the Living Creatures items. Although their names all start with the letters L C and C in upper or lower case, the templates might find a use in other educational forests, or at least suggest useful variations.
Specific Wikipedia Links
[edit | edit source]The following templates are used to provide the items for the various trees in specific groves. Note that LCc LcC LCC LCcE LCcF and LCCe are copies repectively of GHc GhC GHC GHcE GHcF and GHCe used in ../../TpcFrr (the topical forests). See, for example, GHC, which is mirrored by LCC.

Note: In the table, a following _ says (and shows) that a following blank is generated, but the _ is not generated. Such items that also need a comma are for use in linear lists, except at the end.
Internal Branching
[edit | edit source]The following templates are used to provide for movements within groves and between them. This is needed because the groves are quite large. Note that LCc2 is a copy of of GHc2 used in ../../TpcFrr (the topical forests). Also, LCc9 is a copy of GHc1 from the same place.
LCd1 | [[{{{1}}}#{{{2}}}|{{{2}}}]] | LCc1 | [[{{{1}}}#{{{2}}}|{{{2}}}]] |

Generic Wikipedia Links
[edit | edit source]Internal Links
[edit | edit source]The template that provides a list of links to the generic groves is called LTwLL It needs no parameters.
The following templates are used for linking from the generic items to a related specific grove.
LvAmf | {{{1}}} | LvBrd | {{{1}}} | LvFsh | {{{1}}} | LvMml | {{{1}}} | LvRpt | {{{1}}} |

Item Templates
[edit | edit source]The following tables have two columns, where a left entry corresponds closely to the right entry. The idea here is that, because generic items turn out more frequently than specific items, it is useful to provide one template for the initial item of a new second letter in a sequence, and a corresponding template for a following item.
Thus the first column of the following tables of this section shows the template for a new second letter, which provides for a new line in the display with a • prefix, while the code in the second column has no • and no new line. That's why the entries in the first column are dropped a little.
Sometimes there are very few items with a particular second letter. For such cases the code {{../LTnx}} can be used to put a • prefix in front of a second column code and not cause a line break, providing there is no space between the {{../LTnx}} and the following code.
