SIGIL'LUM. A small statue, figure, or image (Ov. A. Am. i. 407.); embossed or affixed to vases of gold and silver (Cic. Verr. ii. 4. 22.); cast in terra-cotta moulds for architectural decorations (Plin. H. N. xxxvi. 59.), formed by the impressions of a signet ring (Cic. Acad. iv. 26.); or worked in embroidery. Ov.
