SEMIOB'OLUS (ἡμιόβολος). A half obol; a small piece of the Greek silver coinage, of which there were two standards, the Attic, worth about 3.25 farthings, and the Aeginetan, worth 1d. 0.583 farthings. Fann. de Pond. 8.
