NAVA'LE (νεών, νεώριον). A dock and dock-yard, in which ships were built, repaired, and laid up in ordinary, with all the gear and tackle belonging to them. Virg. Aen. iv. 593. Liv. viii. 14. xl. 51. Vitruv. v. 12. 7.

2. (ναύσταθμον). A roadstead, or harbour for ships on the coast. Ov. Her. xviii. 207.
