FORMEL'LA. Diminutive of FORMA. Either a small mould for giving an artificial and fanciful form to fish when dressed up for dinner, or probably a mould in the shape of a fish, like the annexed specimen (Formella/1.1), from an original found in Pompeii. Apic. ix. 13.
