FEMUR (μηρός). In architecture, the long flat projecting face between each channel (canaliculus) of a triglyph (Vitruv. iv. 3. 5.); three of which are seen in the annexed engraving (Femur/1.1), from the frieze of a Doric temple formerly existing at Rome.
