EPIC'ROCUM (ἐπίκροκον). Properly, a Greek word, used to designate a woman's garment; but whether it meant of a fine texture, or of a saffron colour, is matter of doubt, for it may be derived from κρόκη (subtemen), or from κρόκος (crocus).
