DISCU'BITUS, DIS'CUBO. These words denote the taking of a place, and reclining at meal-time, as described s. ACCUBO; but, strictly speaking, when they are used, allusion is made to the whole company, that is, to a number of persons who recline together upon different couches (Val. Max. ii. 1. 9. Cic.
