CLI'NOPUS (κλινόπους). The foot of a bedstead. (Lucil. ap. Macrob. Sat. vi. 4.) The ancient bedsteads were commonly supported upon four legs, like our own, as in the illustration (Clinopus/1.1), from a Pompeian painting.
