CIN'IFLO. A slave attached to the female part of the household, whose business it was either to heat the irons for the ornatrix (Schol. Acron. ad Hor. Sat. i. 2. 98.) when she was dressing her mistress's hair; or, according to Servius (ad Virg. Aen. xii. 611.), to procure and administer the powder (cinis) which women employed for tinting their hair of a light auburn colour.
