CERVI'CAL (προσκεφάλαιον, ὑπαυχένιον). A bolster, cushion, or squab for supporting the back of the head and neck on a bed or dining couch. (Suet. Nero, 6. Mart. xiv. 146.) The illustration (Cervical/1.1) is from a painting at Pompeii.
