CAPULA'TOR. A person employed in the process of oil making, whose business it was to pass and repass the oil from one vat to another, or from the vat into jars, for the purpose of refining it, which he did with a sort of ladle or vessel with a handle, similar in form and character to the capis or capula, from which the name originates.
