[edit | edit source]CAP'SULA. Diminutive of CAPSA; a small box for books, or other things (Catull. lxviii. 36.); hence the expression homo totus de capsula (Seneca, Ep., 115.), a fop, or, as we also say, one who looks as if he had just come out of a band-box.
