CALCEOLA'RIUS. A shoe-maker. (Plaut. Aul. iii. 5. 38.) The illustration (Calceolarius/1.1) is from a painting excavated at Resina, representing the interior of a shoe-maker's shop, in which the two genii here figured are employed at their trade.
