AMPHIPROS'TYLOS (ἀμφιπρόστυλος). Applied to temples, or to any other edifices, which have an open porch or portico projecting beyond the cella or main body of the building at both extremities, the front and rear, as shown on the accompanying ground-plan (Amphiprostylos/1.1). Vitruv. iii. 2. 4.
