Problem Statement[edit | edit source]

-Have Arduino to work the DC motor

-Translate instructions to operate Logview and battery charging into a tutorial

-Find the most suitable connector for a homemade version of the helicopter

Summary[edit | edit source]

Dcalderon was tasked to have a motor and a ESC work with an arduino to push in making a homemade helicopter. He went through a problem as he wasn't able to determine the inputs of the three wires he had for the motor. He proceeded to discuss his problem to the class and it was concluded that it didn't matter. After having his problem solved, he went on to attach the motor onto the board.
Andyn6361 was tasked to make a tutorial in charging the lithium-polymer battery and document the charging with the Logview software.
Dkromer1996 was tasked to find the name of the connector that would connect the lithium-polymer battery to the helicopter. He discovered the batteries use EC3 connectors and began the process of purchasing the connector. He then proceeded to practice soldering to gain some experience in soldering.

Story[edit | edit source]

With the Ar.Drone costing about 300 dollars, the team's main goal is to develop parts for a homemade version of the Ar.Drone. For this project, we decided to have an arduino control a motor that would propel a board and find the best battery for flight.

Decision List[edit | edit source]

Material List[edit | edit source]

Dual power unit

Lithium-polymer batteries

Software List[edit | edit source]

Logview - Documents charging batteries

Time[edit | edit source]

Our teammates are spending approximately 4 hours in class and 5 hours outside of class. Also, we are spending 1-2 hours on wikiversity to write about personal page. Most of time, we spend our time working on project and document information.

Next Steps[edit | edit source]

The next step is to finish up with the connection of the motor and the arduino to get the arduino to run the motor. everything that is needed is on the board.
