Referencing & Researching Activity: Using your blog (set up in-class under the tutors’ direction), students are required to write a short essay of 500 words. The short essay topic is as follows: Professional people who commit plagiarism are socially irresponsible and are not suitable to occupy professional roles in society. Discuss, in relation to the profession you intend to pursue after graduation, using examples. Students are to use at least 10 references and present the essay using full prose, appropriate paragraphs (approximately 100-150 words each paragraph), and a variety of high-quality, academic references, as follows:
- Academic books, including edited books;
- Academic journal articles;
- News media articles;
- Government websites; and
- Websites from businesses, industry groups, consumer groups or professional bodies
The reference list must use a recognised scholarly referencing system using the Author/Date format (see below details for referencing the academic essay assignment).
