Vertikal 1 and 2 studied solar radiation in the wavelength range 0.1 nm to 150.0 nm with regard to X-ray and extreme ultraviolet (XUV) emission of the quiet Sun and solar X-ray bursts. Vertikal 1 is launched on November 28, 1970, at about 06:30 local time from Kapustin Yar.

As images may be copyrighted a Fair Use exemption is claimed. |
