Experimental Music is a music genre that cross boundaries of the genre itself, an interdisciplinary segment involving art, in general (visual arts, dancing, performances), science and classical/popular music. In some cases, Music Theory foundations like scales and tempo might not be considered, either for aesthetically purposes or just to sound as miscellaneous art. Production aspects and sound engineering techniques might be precisely enhanced, but in opposition bad quality recordings can also be classified as experimental. Other artists of the segment also reach and project experimental music into pop, rap, electronica and alternative, contributing with new tendencies for those styles of music, as well as influencing artists of the respective music genres.
Sub-Genres

Experimental Music will still be focused on the performance of the artist, live, regardless of his background in the music's development.
