Anthropology studies human variability over time and space as a process in its biological and sociological senses.
As the holistic study of humanity, it can be divided into three branches depending on the dimension of human life that it focuses on more: Socio-cultural Anthropology, Archaeology and Biological Anthropology.
Sociocultural Anthropology
[edit | edit source]As one of the branches of Anthropology, Socio-cultural Anthropology also studies the processes that lead to human variability over time and space, but focusing of course on socio-cultural processes. One of those is migration.
This topic is one of the oldest in the field of human studies and also a current subject of research, since people are continually moving around the world, at ever increasing rates and in different ways.
