Numbers (to ten)

A number is a symbol that represents how many objects there are in a set.

A number can be written as a symbol (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ...) or a word (one, two, three, four, five, six, seven ...)

Math Symbols

Plus sign (+)
+ The addition symbol tells you to combine the two numbers on either side.
2 + 2 is the same as saying "two plus two"

Minus sign (-)
- The subtraction symbol tells you to take away the number on the right from the number on the left.
2 - 1 is the same as saying "two minus one"
