Login Instructions

[edit | edit source]

Handing out printed Login Instructions is a good way of speeding up the lengthy process of getting everyone logged in at the start of a session. This is particularly so at the start of a new academic year, when the students are not yet familiar with the software.

It is possible to run the Exeter Games and Veconlab sites in kiosk mode provided you have Internet Explorer installed. The kiosk prevents the students from switching away from the experiment to check email or browse the web. Ctrl+Alt+Windows+F4 closes Internet Explorer and exits the kiosk.

Example: Exeter Games via Internet Explorer Kiosk

[edit | edit source]

Start your computer and log on.

Start Internet Explorer.

Do a Google search for the words "feele kiosk".

Click on the first link: "Feele Kiosk: Internet Explorer Kiosk Mode".

Click on the upper of the two bullet-pointed links: "Log in to Feele (Exeter)". A "File Download - Security Warning" may appear, asking you, "Do you want to run or save this file?" If so, click Run (not Save). An "Internet Explorer - Security Warning" may then appear, asking you, "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?" If so, click Run (not Don't Run).

You should now see the "Feele Lab Participant Access" screen. Click on the top button, "Login" (Log in here to participate in an experiment) to bring up the "Participant Login" screen. Enter your first name, your last name and the Access Code for this experiment, which is [to be announced], then click on "Login".

Note that you do not need to write down your username and password.

You may start to read the instructions as soon as they appear; you might first have to wait for other participants to log in. When you reach the end of the instructions, you may start round 1 of the experiment.
