SUMMARY OF WEEK 2

We planned to have a functional motor by the end of the second week, which was somewhat completed. We bought a motor and figured out how to make it work but we need to find a switch to have the motor respond to our commands. We also started to brainstorm ideas on how the robot car might possibly look or at least try and have a prototype on how the power wheel might look with its new motor.

Week2 Activities

September 24, 2012: We searched online for a power motor to operate our power wheel for the robot car. After thorough research we found the proper motor and bought it for a low price. We then brainstormed ideas on how to connect the motor to the power wheel and have it possibly work.

September 26, 2012: We used a power source to have the power wheel work but we ran into a problem with the it way functions. We have to move the wires from the power source around to have power motor move backward and forward. To have the motor work the way we like, we have to find a switch that can operate the movement of the wheel.

September 28, 2012: I met up with the members of my group to discuss the robot car. We came together in the engineering lab and looked for pieces that could help us finish the development of the power wheel. Unfortunately, we did not find a solution, we found a switch that could possibly help us in completing the development of the power wheel but came to know that the switch most probably did not work. We then began to look at arduino programs and find ways to have the wheel move forward and backward along with working on power wheel designs to complete this portion of our project.

MY THIRD TASK

Come up with a design a 100% guarantee design for the power wheel. Possibly have a prototype ready for the robot car and hopefully get this wikiversity program to properly work on my computer.
