Assignment: Evaluate Wikipedia article

[edit | edit source]

I completed the assignment on Wikiedu. I chose to evaluate an article on what is becoming one of my favorite albums, Lolitawork Libretto wherein I felt the article had a very well written lead, but as it's ma short article some of the information such as reception was relegated solely to the lead where as I felt it may be better placed in it's own category. Much of the other aspects I noticed fell under a similar category where what was in the lead should have been elsewhere in the article as well.

Assignment: Make a small edit in Wikipedia

[edit | edit source]

For the assignment I decided to edit the article I evaluated in the last assignment. One thing I had noticed, but did not mention was the lack of a source and original Japanese text for the full album title "Lolitawork Libretto: A Libretto on What Makes a Girl Work". I went to the official Amazon.co.jp listing of the album and made sure to make an archive on Archive.org which I have used many times in the past to assure it will persist into the future, this is common for Wikipedia as I understand it. I made sure to use the citing features and format the citation accordingly.

Assignment: Collaborate with ChatGPT in a conversation about possible topics

[edit | edit source]

I began with asking ChatGPT it's thoughts on the morality of the Wayback Machine and it mostly brought up common issues of differing interests, between the freedom of open media sources and the conflict involving copyright law. I'm not sure this would be amazing as a page on Wikipedia, however a section on the page for the Wayback Machine likely already exists but could potentially be further developed. Because I was slightly conflicted, I decided to ask about a slightly more random topic, that being the future of Web Comics (more specifically in terms of distribution). To put it bluntly ChatGPT did a terrible job answering my questions, and seemed to ignore the purpose of the medium and would repeatedly bring AI into the situation until I told it to think through other means.

Analysis of the Telephone and Phenomenological

[edit | edit source]

The telegraph was a game changer for the entire world. as simple as it may seem now the ability to talk with anyone over a phone line as soon as you desire and widely available was the beginning of our current interconnectedness of the world today. As for Phenomenological, I asked ChatGPT and it staid that the word means a prioritizing of the perspective and analysis of the one experiencing something.

Peer Review of Articles

[edit | edit source]

We simply peer reviewed articles on this day. I'm sorry my memory is absolutely atrocious and I quite honestly cannot remember the articles. I recall doing it in class, probably with Sam.
