The Nintendo Switch is a video game console that was released on March 3rd, 2017 and was developed by Nintendo. This system has revolutionized taking games on the go. The Nintendo switch is a compact device that can either be portable and be taken on the move or have the Nintendo switch plugged into the tv where the screen is transported into the hdmi and projected onto the tv. The Switch measures 9.41 inches wide by 4.02 inches tall by 0.55 inches thick. By itself, the Switch unit weighs 10.48 ounces. The cpu/gpu is NVUDUA Custom Tegra processor. The USB connector USB Type-C and it is used to charge the docked Nintendo Switch. There is a headphone jack to plug in earphones and a game card slot to put Nintendo Switch game cards. The battery life lasts about 4.5 to 9 hours depending on what game you play.[1]


Development

In 2015, a person named Tatsumi Kimishima started to work on the development after his predecessor passed away in 2014. Kimishima wanted a console that was universally different from the previous from the 3ds and the Wii U. He oversaw the production and launch of the Nintendo switch in 2017 before stepping down from president of Nintendo as of June 28, 2018. The Nintendo switch was released March 2017, after the Wii U. The Nintendo switch outsold the Wii U by only 11 months, even though Wii U was out for five years. After initial release profits in the U.S. were number one. The Nintendo Switch is a console most users take on the go. They use this technology to distract themselves from everyday worry. The Nintendo Switch also allows online play. You could buy Nintendo online on their store called the Nintendo shop.[2]

Console

The Nintendo Switch is a machine the people can take on the go. The switch itself is light enough so it won't be something to drag along. It is cheap compared to Xbox and Playstation systems. It is 299 dollars while the Xbox One X is 499 dollars and the Playstation 4 Pro is about 350 dollars. The Nintendo Switch The battery life lasts about 2 to 3 hours depending on what game you play. The base switch comes with and up to 32 GB of internal storage and could be expanded upon with microSD cards. The front screen is a touch screen when used in portable mode. The home menu of the switch shows all the games and apps that you have either purchased or downloaded and will be in order from first played to last played.b,

The bottom of the switch is for the HDMI port to charge the switch and connect it to the tv.

The Nintendo Switch dock is used to put the Nintendo Switch whenever it needs to be charged or needed to be played on a bigger screen. The size of the dock is 4.1 inches length, 6.8 inches width, and 2.12 inches deep on the inside. It weighs approximately .72 pounds. The output that the dock uses is a USB port which uses a system connector, AC adapter port, and the much needed HDMI port. The dock is used to store the switch when not needed. It takes the dock about 2-3 hours to fully charge the switch after usage. There is a plug on the bottom to plug into the switch and that starts the charging station which could lead to either leaving it to charge or start to play on it using a television set.[3]

Controllers

They joy con controllers are controllers that are about 4 inches by height and about 1.5 inches wide. They are interchangeable from the switch. They can used with or without the switch. The joy con controllers use bluetooth when not connected to the switch. They have a gaming piece which allows you to plug in the controllers to a plastic piece to make using the joy cons easier. There are also joy controllers that have straps on the end if the user doesn't want to use a joy con controller grip. [4]
