Bill Gates (born October 28, 1955) is one of the world's most successful entrepreneurs, in 2016 he holds a net worth of approximately 80 billion. Bill Gates founded Microsoft with his friend Paul Allen in 1975. He had an interest in computer programming as young as 13 years old. Bill Gates is currently one of the richest men in the world. In 2014, Gates decided he wanted to step down as Microsoft's chairman. Bill Gates is also considered to be an author, a philanthropist, and an author.

Bill Gates was born in Seattle, Washington. He was raised into an upper middle-class family, he had two sisters and a loving mother and father. As young as 13 years old, Gates started to show a big interest in computer programming. At the time he attended Lakeside School. He often spent his time reading lots of books, so much to the point where his parents were worried he might become a loner. Gates attended Harvard University and worked with his friend Paul Allen who had the same interests on him on a software that would later be known as Microsoft. He eventually left Harvard to pursue his passion and in 1975, Microsoft was founded.

Bill Gates, founded Microsoft with his friend Paul Allen in 1975, it started off slow but later on as the computer industry grew it was even competing with huge companies like IBM, Apple, and Intel. During the years of 1979, and 1981, Microsoft's growth was insane. The revenue increased from $2.5 million to $16 million. By 1986 Microsoft launched Windows and eventually it became one of the biggest companies in the world.

The legacy of Bill Gates will never be forgotten. In 2016, Bill Gates is one of the richest men in the world holding a net worth of 80+ billion. Through hard work, and determination his dreams of expanding Microsoft came true, which has become one of the world's biggest software companies. Microsoft was started from his garage too. Up to 85% of people in the world today use Windows, which revolutionized Computer Software. Aside from that, he also founded the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. 6 million+ lives have been saved from this foundation and 28 billion dollars have been donated.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
In 1987, Bill Gates would catch the eye of a woman, Melinda Gates, who would later on become his wife. They were the perfect match and they are very similar in terms of personality. During 1995, Melinda and Bill Gates took time off work to travel to several different countries and get an idea of how different countries are. In 1996, Bill and Melinda gave birth to their first child, Jennifer. In 1999, they had a son named Rory and in 2002 he had a second daughter named Phoebe. Now in 2016, he is no longer Microsoft's chairman because he resigned but he spends much of his days giving back to the world.
