The term "community" is used extensively in the context of OER, free culture, libre knowledge, etc.. The need for this page arose while developing the Social Entrepreneurship curriculum in a section on Understanding Developing Communities.
The wikipedia entry is useful in that it shows the diversity of uses of this term. The approach taken in the Understanding Developing Communities section was to ask learners to consider their own community/communities before trying to understand others.
