Commercial diving/Act as a standby Diver

Relevance: Scuba diving (Some outcomes - OC SCUBA surface and in-water standby)), Surface supplied diving (all outcomes - SSDE surface and in-water standby), Surface oriented wet bell diving (all outcomes - SSDE bellman and surface standby).

Required outcomes:

  1. Dress in as standby diver
  2. Complete all pre-dive checks
  3. Connect all relevant diving equipment
  4. Respond to emergencies, including constant communication with Diving Supervisor during deployment
  5. Follow the umbilical of a distressed diver in order to locate him
  6. Follow the emergency procedure to recover a distressed diver
  7. Maintain constant communication with Diving Supervisor during deployment

This is a practical module. The assessment will continue until the learner has demonstrated competence on more than one(three or more?) consecutive occasions. Assessment may be done by a supervisor appointed by the school to assess these skills.
