Aboriginal creative arts project

Overview[edit | edit source]

This project sought to improve staff capability to provide quality care for Aboriginal people living in residential care environments by creating new knowledge demonstrating the use of creative art as a medium for cultural awareness education.

The project involved Aboriginal residents and their families in the preparation and production of culturally appropriate pieces of public art. It engaged the staff in cultural awareness education through observation and participation in the Creative Arts Project and produced a visual record of the project to demonstrate the use of creative art as a medium to develop staff cultural competence.
