The Antiquarian Society of Perth was formed in 1784 by Reverends James Scott, Adam Peebles,J D Mcgregor,and J Duff. The society was formed for research and the collection of antiques of that time. The Literary and Antiquarian Society of Perth was disbanded in 1914 when it sold its collection and building to the Perth Town Council.
