Talk:Post-Conflict Management and Resolution Studies

First off I would like to say what an incredible idea this Center is. I had no idea something like this existed, but I am glad to see that it does. I think research and the follow through go hand in hand and are the keys to preventing major conflicts from occurring and reoccurring. I am a Canadian citizen, but of Serbian descent, and I have witnessed conflict in my homeland since I can remember. However growing up as a Canadian I believe has given me an alternate perspective on the situation. Some of my closest Serbian friends and family hold intense resentment towards Croatians, and still hold grudges. Granted they were alive and present at a different time, yet I still can relate to their disdain to a certain degree. Where we differ is in the fact that I can see a future where we coexist together. These were men that were fighting for their beliefs, for their country, for the men who pull the strings. I can remember vividly the Kosovo situation where NATO came in a decimated my country. Non stop bombings. All because the Albanians claimed this once rich in tradition Serbian province as theirs. How can I blame the Albanians for this? I do however hold some resentment towards them for even making this claim, but it was NATO, an organization who we as humans are to entrust our safety with. How are these people making decisions on issues they dont have the first clue on? why did they side with Albania? I have no idea, but theres nothing I can do but trust that it wont happen again. Hopefully your organization can further educate decision makers on cultures, and beliefs and curb their ignorance to make more informed policy, and strategical decisions.
