Hey this is a great topic that I think a lot of people can relate to, if not everyone. I myself was drawn to it because I fear the death of immediate family members not myself, so the solutions in this paper don't all relate to me. Perhaps looking at it as death anxiety relating to a loved one would be a beneficial addition? :) Regards, Oliver Tandl/u3152154

Hi, this is such an interesting topic! Up to you but it could be cool to discuss whether religious beliefs can increase/decrease death anxiety. These could be good starting references

Hi, this is an interesting topic. Have you thought about discussing thanatophobia? This could be a good starting reference

Added external links[edit source]

Hello, I will start off by saying well done with your book chapter. I just noticed that you had no external links section. I added one for you and also provided two options. The first being life line Australia. With a topic like this, its always smart to have a help line added somewhere. Secondly, I added an informative youtube video that covers ways to deal with death anxiety. U3177123 (discusscontribs) 12:04, 12 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Natalie!

Really awesome topic. I remember doing an essay regarding euthanasia and how death anxiety can be lowered if an individual feels more fulfilled with their life according to Erikson's Psychosocial Stages of Development. I found an article that integrates his theory with Terror Management Theory which you have mentioned in your chapter. I hope it helps! :)

Hi there, Great topic it's really interesting and something that's not often talked about! So far your chapter is looking great, only suggestions I'd make is with your reference list instead of putting 'retrieved from ...website' I'd get the DOI for the journal. For example the Lehto & Stein reference is DOI:10.1891/1541-6577.23.1.23. Easiest way is just putting the journal article into citethisforme (or another reference generatory) and it'll find the DOI for you :) Otherwise looks good! --U3083764 (discusscontribs) 22:35, 10 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! Love your topic: death anxiety is so interesting. Just regarding the following sentence: "This disruption of daily life can be observed in the above case study concerning Jessica." I think it would be really awesome if you could link that disruption back to the case study a little more, so, maybe something like "This disruption of daily life can be observed in the above case study concerning Jessica, who, due to her anxiety surrounding death, avoids leaving her home, and resigns from her job."

Only a suggestion though; feel free to disregard this :) Cheers, and good luck!U3117451 (discusscontribs) 02:21, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

References[edit source]

YouTube Video[edit source]

Wow! That was just as morbid as I thought it would be haha! But really good. I found it interesting to read. It even got me looking up youtube videos! haha if you're looking for more to add to your 'see also' section, I found a good video on Carl Jungs view on death - the link is below :)

Hey! Great book chapter - extremely informative based on theoretical concepts. I only made a few minor changes including the spelling of behaviour, and uppercase letter consistency in your bullet points. One small thing - you could add some images throughout the chapter to add to the visual aspect. All the best :) U3081523 (discusscontribs) 01:44, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

--Jazznicol (discusscontribs) 04:40, 22 October 2016 (UTC)Hi! This is a really good book chapter! You've made morbid topic really interesting and the layout of all the information is really clear. My one suggestion would be in the area where you briefly mention other theories (regret, separation etc.), you might want to add a hyperlink to an informative page on those topics (like a further reading suggestion). Also, as was pointed out above, a few more images might make the page more engaging. Really good job though, this is looking great!Reply

Hey, Thoroughly enjoyed reading your chapter, informative and well written. My only suggestion would echo previous posts, in increasing the engagement with the reader through including some interactive components or some more images. The literature is well covered and you incorporate the different theories, best of luck with the chapter --U3090066 (discusscontribs) 18:21, 22 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Presentation[edit source]

Hi,

your chapter looks detailed and well thought out, the sub-headings make it so easy for me to understand where I am and the relevance. The only thing I would make an adjustment to is putting maybe another smaller picture further down the chapter to help break up the text, give the reader something easy to look at before moving back into the details surrounding your chapter. Hope you do well.

Terror Management Theory[edit source]

Consider citing the book "the worm at the core" as it is written by some of the seminal authors of TMT. --Oscar3176498 (discusscontribs) 02:25, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is an excellent all-round presentation.

Structure and content[edit source]

  1. Overview
    1. Great Overview - sets up and establishes the problem and its importance in a clear and understandable way.
  2. Selection and organisation
    1. Well selected content - not too much or too little.
    2. Very well structured.
    3. Addresses a self-help theme.
    4. Limited coverage of research.
    5. I suggest changing the statement towards the end that death is scary and the slide with blood - it is quite dramatic and I think undermines the attempt to communicate the final message about relaxing and focusing on the positives etc. Perhaps use a positive example instead.
    6. No citations.
    7. References are included.
  3. Conclusion
    1. Take-home messages / key points are well summarised.

  1. Audio
    1. Well narrated.
    2. Audio is clear and reasonably well-paced - perhaps a little fast.

    3. Excellent use of the Description field to provide relevant information.
  3. Audio recording quality
    1. Good
  4. Image/video recording quality
