on consideration, I agreed with one change but not the other, I propose it should read

This is a grammar distinction that might not be obvious to an English as a second language user, so I take the edit to have been in good faith, but it did not scan well for a native user of the language. Since this edit may have been important to the editor, I have taken this opportunity to open a discussion so that they can comment on my re-editing of the phrase, and defend their interpretation if they so want.--Graeme E.
