[edit] Origin of the "collections" idea

The collections idea had a number of origins, some of which might fall within the concept of "action research", and some not. (1) The various courses surrounding constructivist learning and course design seemed to need a central coordination page without going as far as having a Topic/School/Portal page (this was the immediate/primary consideration); (2) other OER projects were already using the idea (see Classifying educational resources); (3) it partly came out of my own brain (i.e. experience of educational projects elsewhere); (4) the "collections" category had already been created by User:Remi, perhaps with a similar idea in mind, when categorising a page made by User:Kyran Tyr. So the idea partly grew out of Wikiversity experience and partly not. --McCormack 08:49, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
