South African law is a mixture primarily of Roman, Roman Dutch, English and Statute laws.

The Court system is governed by English procedure.

The Courts are in order of precidence:

  • The Constitutional Court.
  • The Appellate Division.
  • The High Courts.
  • Magistrate's Courts
  • Various specialised courts, for example Courts of Admiralty, Labour Courts, Water Courts and the like.
