The human body is equipped with a sophisticated mechanism to protect against a variety of invading organisms. It some disease states this mechanism is focused against elements of "self", causing harm. In this group of diseases are called autoimmune
Autoimmunity can occur before a vaccine has been processed into the person's body. This is when a person is found to already be immune to a disease without a vaccine
Some diseases are auto-immune in nature. Rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus erythematosus are examples of auto-immune diseases
