Researcher in pure mathematics at Newcastle University and the University of Glasgow. My main research interests are low-dimensional topology, combinatorial and geometric (semi)group theory as well as universal algebra, decision problems, automata and regular language theory. I also maintain interests in algebraic geometry and homological algebra.

My current research focus is on diagram groups of semigroup presentations, which are a large, natural class of torsion-free groups closed under many group-theoretical constructions.
